GIRL SCOUT MANAGER PLEADS GUILTY IN LOS ANGELES EMBEZZLEMENT SCHEME

Former Senior Manager for the Girl Scout Council of Greater Los Angeles, Channing Smack, has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles for charges of money laundering and mail fraud. Smack, a resident of Marina del Rey, had managed 22 properties for the local Girl Scouts chapter—that is, until he was charged with embezzling $370,000 from the organization.

STUDY FINDS HALF OF BLACK MALES IN U.S. ARRESTED BY AGE 23

According to a study published by the Crime & Delinquency journal, almost half of all black males are arrested in the United States by the time they are 23 years old. The study, conducted by researchers at several universities, also found that almost 40% of white males are arrested in the U.S. by the same age.

Former rapper and television star Flavor Flav was arrested yesterday in Hempstead, New York for driving with 16 suspensions on his driver’s license. The 54 year old, whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton, Jr., was caught driving 79 mph in a 55 mph zone. When the police searched his black Hyundai, they also discovered a small amount of marijuana.
